Simulation of a Double White Dwarf Merger. The movies show a density isosurface with the temperature in Kelvin mapped onto the surface as a color field. The simulation was run in a reference frame rotating with the initial orbital frequency number. The time in initial orbital periods is shown in the upper left hand corner.
